Autism and Developmental Testing

Early Identification Leads to Greater Independence

Early identification and treatment services for Autism Spectrum Disorders and other developmental delays is a key factor in helping children develop greater independence.

Common symptoms of an Autism Spectrum Disorder include:

  • Repetitive behaviors
  • Poor eye contact
  • Language delays
  • Trouble making and keeping friends
  • Rigid Thinking
  • Trouble coping with changes and transitions
  • Restricted interests

Developmental Delays can take many forms depending on the severity and area of concern. Signs of a developmental delay may include:

  • Language delays
  • Motor skill delays
  • Deficits in early learning skills
  • Behavioral difficulties
  • Emotional outbursts

At Jennifer E. Manfre and Associates, we conduct comprehensive evaluations to differentiate between a range of developmental delays, intellectual disabilities, and autism spectrum disorders. As part of the evaluation we will provide your family with recommendations to support your child’s ongoing development based on the needs identified during the evaluation. We will also collaborate with and provide the assessment report to other treatment providers as appropriate to ensure continuity of care.

We also offer comprehensive re-assessments to monitor your child’s progress and development overtime. These evaluations may be required by insurance in order for your child to continue receiving services or you may request a re-assessment to assist in ongoing treatment planning as your child’s abilities and symptoms change over time. Additionally, if you feel developmental information and concerns were not fully considered in a previous evaluation, we provide assessments allowing you to receive a second opinion and further information regarding your child’s diagnosis and treatment recommendations.

If you are unsure if a full evaluation is needed but are concerned with your child’s development, please contact our office to schedule an initial parent meeting with one of your psychologists. In this meeting, you can discuss your concerns and our staff will help determine if an evaluation or other treatment interventions may be appropriate.

If you have any further questions, or would like to schedule an assessment, please contact us or call our office at (630) 968-0792.

We help to address concerns that may be preventing you from living a joyful life.
