Carlos Robles, LCSW
Carlos Robles is a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker. He earned a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from North Central College and a master’s degree in direct practice social work from The University of Chicago. Carlos has a great passion for serving people who have experienced and survived trauma, struggled with life’s hardships and challenging events.
He has worked in many social service and medical settings as a social worker and counselor. Carlos has worked in some of the busiest hospitals in Chicago providing crisis intervention, care coordination and counseling. He has specifically provided therapeutic services for individuals and their families who have experienced intimate partner violence, community violence, physical trauma, acute stress, depression and anxiety. He has also provided therapy for individuals struggling with substance use.
During therapy, Carlos will collaborate with you to develop an individualized plan. The first meetings will focus on getting to know you and what to expect from therapy. Overall, Carlos takes a compassionate, humble and collaborative approach. He believes people are their own life experts and assists them in forging a renewed path towards what they value and enjoy in life. He focuses on uncovering what people want out of life going forward at their own pace. Carlos will also focus on offering realistic strategies to help when life feels out of control or overwhelming.
Carlos is formally trained in various behavioral therapies and counseling styles but will take an individualized approach to best fit each person and their reasons for coming to therapy. He is a patient listener and will take great care in offering help.
