Ashley Petersen, Psy.D.

Dr. Ashley Petersen is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in comprehensive neuropsychological and psychological assessment for adolescents and adults. She earned her Doctorate in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology and has trained in a range of clinical settings, including community mental health, co-occurring disorder treatment programs, and child and family services.

Dr. Petersen specializes in assessment for individuals presenting with ADHD, learning disabilities, memory challenges, neurocognitive disorders, trauma-related concerns, and other complex clinical conditions. Her evaluations are comprehensive and collaborative, integrating cognitive, academic, emotional, and personality assessment to clarify diagnoses and guide practical, individualized recommendations.

Additionally, Dr. Petersen currently serves as an assistant professor in the clinical psychology Ph.D. program at the Illinois Institute of Technology. She teaches assessment-focused courses and is dedicated to training doctoral students in evidence-based, culturally responsive psychological and neuropsychological evaluation. In addition, she serves as Associate Director of Clinical Training and Practicum Coordinator, overseeing clinical placements and supporting the professional development of emerging psychologists.

Dr. Petersen is especially passionate about helping clients better understand how their brains work, identify strengths alongside areas of vulnerability, and develop actionable strategies that support academic, occupational, and personal success.

Outside of her professional work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children, watching sports, running, and reading.
