Before your child or teen begins attending group sessions, you will have an Initial Parent Meeting to discuss any relevant medical, social, and academic history, in addition to any current concerns you may have. At this meeting, you will also work together to develop treatment goals specific to the needs of your child.
Group Sessions
Each group follows a structured to semi-structured curriculum, depending on the type of group and ages involved. Group sessions include various learning modalities to accommodate all styles of learning. For younger children, we incorporate a weekly theme and parents receive an outline describing group activities and suggestions for home carryover. For all groups, a Treatment Goal Summary is provided to parents at the end of the module to measure progress and provide clinical recommendations based on current level of performance in group.
If our practice is in-network with your insurance plan, group therapy will be billed to your insurance. Certain workshops may not be billable to insurance.
