Nessa Gulik
Nessa Gulik, Psy.D.
Dr. Nessa Gulik is a licensed clinical psychologist with credentialing to provide inter-state telehealth therapy (PSYPACT). Her previous experience includes providing individual, couples, and family therapy, supervising graduate-level trainees, and developing clinical training programs. She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from California State University, Northridge, and her doctorate in Psychology from Pepperdine University in Los Angeles. Her training includes clinical rotations primarily in community mental health, including outpatient, residential, and hospital-based settings. She completed her internship and postdoctoral residency at Southwest Behavioral and Health Services, a large non-profit integrated behavioral health agency in Phoenix, Arizona.
Dr. Gulik’s areas of clinical interest include relationships, phase of life issues, substance use disorders, trauma, and the intersection of identity, culture, and mental health. She has developed and facilitated programming for LGBTQIA+ clients, women in substance use recovery, and individuals looking to improve social skills. In addition to her direct clinical work, Dr. Gulik has provided individual and group supervision to psychology trainees and has led efforts to support advanced clinical education, increased supervision quality, and accreditation processes.
While maintaining a strengths-based approach, Dr. Gulik trends toward an integrative approach rooted in psychodynamic, cognitive- behavioral, person-centered, and emotion-focused approaches. Outside of work, Dr. Gulik enjoys eating delicious food, reading, exploring Chicago and other nearby areas, and spending time with her family and friends.
