Tyler Demers, Psy.D.

Dr. Demers provides individual psychotherapy and psychological evaluations. He is passionate about treating complex trauma and PTSD using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Polyvagal Theory. He believes that a safe, trusting, and collaborative therapeutic relationship is the key to lasting healing and growth. He strives to balance gently pushing patients toward growth while helping them stay within their window of tolerance.

Dr. Demers is experienced working with mood disorders (e.g., anxiety, depression, bipolar), OCD, ADHD, schizophrenia, personality disorders, and intellectual/developmental disabilities (including autism spectrum disorder). He is trained in a variety of evidence-based therapy models including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

Dr. Demers completed his doctorate at Adler University in Chicago, an APA accredited training program. He has experience working with school-age children (9+), adolescents, and adults. He has worked in a variety of settings including outpatient private practice, schools, therapeutic day programs, and mobile crisis prevention. He previously trained agency staff and families who support individuals with high-intensity, challenging behavior in crisis de-escalation. He received EMDR training from EMDR Consulting, an EMDRIA Approved training program. 

Dr. Demers is passionate about creating an affirming, non-judgmental, and compassionate space for individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community and people in non-traditional, non-monogamous, or polyamorous relationships.

In his free time, Dr. Demers enjoys camping, hiking, traveling, and spending time with his retired racing greyhound and 2 cats.
