Tim Moriarty, LCPC
Tim earned a BA from University of Illinois at Chicago and an MA from Adler School of Professional Psychology. He has nearly three decades of experience with the Chicago Police Department Crisis Intervention Team and is highly skilled at verbal de-escalation through active listening and establishing a rapport regardless of the crisis. He works with teens and adults dealing with stress, anxiety, feelings of helplessness, adjustment issues, and more.
Tim Moriarty, LCPC, believes every client is unique and requires a different approach to reach their goals. He uses a variety of methods to guide each client to find the obstacles and barriers that are currently preventing the client to live their best life. Therapy is process that is dependent on the client and the therapist building a rapport based on trust and understanding.
In therapy, Tim seeks out the client’s truths and tries to figure out the “why” in their presenting symptoms. He believes people are resilient and just need encouragement and guidance when they feel stuck. We need assistance in times where we feel lost and insecure; he’s here to help clients walk the path of self-discovery.
