Nora Clisham, M.S., CCC-SLP
Nora Clisham is a speech therapist dedicated to helping her clients and families become advocates for their unique communication needs. She received her Masters in Science from Marquette University, specializing in Augmentative and Alternative Communicative (AAC), early language development, and feeding disorders. Nora began her career in the public school system, working to increase her elementary-aged clients’ abilities to fully participate in their daily academic tasks and to access the support they need to be successful. She then transitioned to a private clinic, where Nora collaborated with occupational and behavioral therapists to work specifically with the autistic population. In this position, Nora became a trained provider in the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) approach to feeding therapy, which allowed her to improve clients’ quality of lives through increasing food repertoires and decreasing mealtime stress for families as a whole. She also has experience working in a multidisciplinary preschool setting, where collaborative therapy was provided to students in conjunction with special education teachers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and support staff. Consequently, Nora always focuses on building a team between therapists and families to provide the best treatment possible for her clients.
Currently, Nora serves as an Adjunct Faculty member at Saint Xavier University, where she supervises graduate student clinicians beginning their journey in the field of speech pathology. In this position, she strives to teach neurodiversity-affirming practices and the importance of regulation and connection to allow therapeutic activities to be more effective.
Outside of work, Nora spends her time with her husband, two children, and two little dogs. Her family loves spending time outside, going for walks or playing at the park. When she finds a moment of free time, Nora also enjoys reading or catching up on her favorite TV series.
Nora is excited to bring her professional and personal experience to the team and to be a part of her new clients’ communication and feeding journeys!
