Natalya Ligas, OTD, OTR/L

Dr. Natalya Ligas received her doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from Rush University Medical Center. Prior to graduate school, Natalya had earned her Bachelor of Science degree specifically in Neuroscience from DePaul University.

During her doctoral program, Dr. Ligas completed her level II clinical fieldwork rotations at University of Chicago Medical Center and at Joy Center, an outpatient  pediatric therapy clinic in Italy that serves American military families living abroad. At UCMC, Dr. Ligas gained direct experience working with patients in the acute care setting, specifically in the Adult Neuro ICU, the Pediatric ICU, and the Neonatal ICU.  At Joy Center, Dr. Ligas gained extensive multidisciplinary and DIR-Floortime experience working with diverse families and children that were navigating various behavioral, emotional, and developmental challenges. Overall, both fieldwork experiences allowed her to gain important clinical skills related to conducting pediatric OT evaluations, being an interdisciplinary team member, and using a collaborative
family-centered approach when working with her clients.

Since 2018, Dr. Ligas has also been an ambassador for Therapist Beyond Borders, a nonprofit organization that partners with communities around the world that have expressed a need for therapy programs. Outside of OT, experiencing different cultures and traveling are strong
passions for Dr. Ligas and her husband. By continuing to serve TBB post-graduation, she is able to combine both of her passions while continuing to grow as a new and aspiring global occupational therapist.
