Ashley Petersen, Psy.D.
Dr. Ashley Petersen received her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Child/Family Psychology from California School of Professional Psychology. She gained extensive experience while completing her training in various mental health settings, including a co-occurring disorder day program providing group therapy and community mental health. For her internship at Julia Ann Singer Center in California, she worked with behaviorally and emotionally challenged children.
Dr. Petersen completed her post-doctoral internship at Psychotherapy Institute in California, working with foster children and their families. She has served the role of clinician, consultant, member of an interdisciplinary team, and psychological assessor throughout her training. Since earning her doctorate and completing training, Dr. Petersen has worked with a non-profit organization and private practice providing psychological evaluations and therapy to adults, children, and adolescents using a collaborative approach that best fits the client’s needs.
Dr. Petersen has a vast amount of experience in conducting psychological evaluations with children, adolescents, and adults with ADHD, learning disabilities, and developmental disorders. She has experience attending IEP meetings and providing recommendations for schools to help create an individualized education plan or a 504 plan for children, adolescents, and young adults. Dr. Petersen is passionate about working with adults and adolescents who are struggling with important life transitions, anxiety, and relationship struggles. In her free time, Dr. Petersen enjoys spending time with her husband and children, watching sports, running, and cooking.
