Scott Beckley

Scott is a Licensed Social Worker and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor who provides Individual, Couples, and Group Therapy. Scott works with clients facing substance abuse, depression, anxiety, major life changes, low self-esteem, relationship dysfunction, career and professional issues, and emerging adult/adult identity development.

Scott focuses on using different therapeutic approaches to help answer lifes biggest questions. He believes that many day-to-day troubles can be linked back to larger uncertainties and questions like: Why do I keep making the same mistakes? Is this relationship going to last? What do I do when I retire? What is my purpose? What do I do after high school/college? Why do I feel lost? Scott specializes in working with clients to create specific treatment plans and goals to address these seemingly unanswerable questions using evidence based practices such as: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Attachment Theory, Existential Therapy , Narrative Therapy, and psychotherapeutic principles. Scott focuses on how these questions contribute to mental health and substance use disorders. Scott seeks to empower his clients to achieve their goals and develop authenticity, resilience, and positive self-image along the way.

Scott has experience working at both Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient levels of care for addiction and mental health prior to private practice. He has worked with individuals, couples, and groups to navigate the difficult path to recovery and sobriety. He received his Masters of Social Work and Post-Baccalaureate in pre-medicine from Loyola University of Chicago. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana University with majors in both English Literature and Anthropology.
